A bit on the inner meaning of Christmas

A small bit from a teaching by t.k. at Tsogyelgar on the esoteric meaning of Christmas: "And you are also Mary. Your body pregnant with that life untouched by the finality of death’s barbed sting. In you the infant Christ, waiting to be born not in the pomp and circumstance of ceremony but the silent humility of the manger. Your body is the alchemical chamber where Life is made and also the circumstances where truth, beauty, goodness can incarnate.

The touch of light impregnates. The nurturance of a mother enfolds. And, the baby - innocence, born into this realm of endurance … swiftly carried away from harm, taken to a land of mysteries, protected in hiding, waiting for the qualities of godliness to emerge.

And you are also John the Baptist. Your longing need calls out in the wilderness. Calls to the inner Christ, prepares the way with devotions, contemplations, a baptism in water and then in fire.

And you are Magdalene, the confusions of desire transformed into the tender heartedness of Love’s soothing balm. And you are Pilate in his vacillations. But also Herod in his fear, his murderous rage. You are the crowd that calls for distractions and offers up the Christ in return for false hopes. And you are deaths and resurrections until finally there is no more dying. You are the choice.

Jesus’ bloodline survives and is called Appearance ‘Break open a stone and there I Am’. The whole of life ….. a pregnant expectation awaiting the birth of Life. And the Mother who you is called on to protect, to take the infant Christ out of dangers and confusion to a land of safety.

Your birth was a the opening of a door. The promise of a new spring and either Christ will be born anew or there will simply the sorrows of crucifixion on modernity’s landscape of telephone poles and wifi towers. Listen, there is the cry of a new born infant within you. Quickly take the myrrh, frankincense and gold as offering…. travel, journey, follow the evening star ... protect, nurture, allow him to become the mystery of Mysteries." - t.k., talks with friends
